Cozy Crochet Works

Winter has arrived in Alberta with an abundance of snow and cold temperatures, so I am digging into the yarn that I have stashed away in every corner of the house. It is a week before Christmas and the days are very short so we are in full hibernation mode. It seems like our kettle is boiling away all day and there are not enough cups of tea to be had. The fall season was gorgeous with warmer temps which lasted into mid November so it gave me time to get the Christmas lights strung up around the house and garden. I am so glad that Mild Weather of November Lisa was taking care of Dark Days of December Lisa, because now I just reach out the door and plug in my lights every morning. It’s amazing what a bit of sparkle can do to lift my spirits.

Modern Patchwork Throw - Free Pattern by Kim Guzman at www.crochetkim.com

The Patchwork blanket is one of my favourites to make. It is complicated (for me) to get started, but once it is going it works up more easily as you go with the repetition of the pattern. I use a yarn that has colour variation already in it so I can minimize how often I have to tie in the ends.
